Disney has released a first-look teaser for Ava DuVernay’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” two days before the new trailer will drop.
“What if we are here for a reason?” Chris Pine’s character says in the trailer. “What if we are part of something truly divine?”
In the trailer, we see stunning new shots of Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling, as well as Storm Reid.
“A Wrinkle in Time” centers on Meg Murry, a high-school-aged girl who is traumatized by the disappearance of her gifted-scientist father.
Meg finds herself transported on an adventure through time and space with her younger brother, Charles Wallace, and her friend, Calvin O’Keefe, to find her father and rescue him from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet.
They are aided on their journey by Mrs. Whatsit (Witherspoon), Mrs. Who (Kaling) and Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey).
“A Wrinkle in Time” is based on the 1962 novel by Madeleine L’Engle. The film, hitting theaters March 9, stars Reid, Witherspoon, Kaling, Pine, Winfrey and Zach Galifianakis.
