“Little Mermaid Live!” star Auli’i Cravalho has been cast as Leslie Mann’s co-star in Amazon’s 10-episode “The Power” series based on Naomi Alderman’s novel of the same name, a rep for the streaming service confirmed to TheWrap.

“The Power” takes place in a world where all teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people and then find out they can awaken this ability in older women. Mann will play the charming and ambitious politician Margot Cleary-Lopez in the series, which will be directed by Reed Morano.

Cravalho will play Jos, Margot’s daughter.

Here is how Amazon describes the family dynamic:

Margot is an American politician on the rise and until now, not only a woman in a man’s world, but one with a questionable taste in jackets according to online trolls.
