Netflix has renewed the autism comedy “Atypical” for a 10-episode second season, star Michael Rapaport announced on Wednesday.
“I wanna tell all the @Atypical @netflix SUPPORTERS Atypical is officially picked up for season 2,” the actor wrote on Twitter, along with a photo of a billboard promoting the show.
The series stars Keir Gilchrist as an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum as he searches for love and independence. Rapaport and Jennifer Jason Leigh co-star as Gilchrist’s parents on the series. Brigette Lundy-Paine and Amy Okuda also star.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, “Atypical” is created and written by “The Goldbergs” and “How I Met Your Mother” alum Robia Rashid. Rashid and director Seth Gordon serve as executive producers along with Mary Rohlich. Leigh also serves as a producer.
