“The Last Excorcism” star Ashley Bell has joined Sarah Rue and Dean Geyer in Chris Siverston’s indie thriller “Maternal Bonds,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The film follows an exhausted set of new parents who are befriended by a seemingly perfect “baby whisperer” named Beth (Rue), who turns out to not be what she seemed. Bell plays the mother of the new baby, who seeks out an online support group for mothers when she’s overwhelmed by her new responsibilities.
“Maternal Bonds” will be produced by Will Clevinger. Filming is underway in Los Angeles.
Bell is best known for her role in “The Last Exorcism.” Earlier this year, she made her Broadway debut in “Machinal,” and is currently writing and directing a documentary entitled “Love & Bananas.”
She is represented by Intellectual Artists Management and Gersh.
