‘Artist’ Director Michel Hazanavicius Signs With CAA

Michel Hazanavicius, director of "The Artist," signed Tuesday with CAA, TheWrap has confirmed. 

CAA is represented by Maha Dakhil.

"The Artist," a black-and-white film that is mostly silent, has been scooping up awards and nominations in recent weeks. The movie, which debuted at Cannes, is up for six Golden Globes, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Independent Spirit Awards. Last month, the American Film Institute gave the movie an AFI Special Award

Hazanavicius, 44, previously directed the spy movie parodies "OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies" and "OSS 117: Lost in Rio." After initially being released in Franch, they were later distributed in the U.S.
