Starling City is now Star City, and The CW’s titular “Arrow” may finally be becoming Green Arrow in the newest trailer for the show’s fourth season.
Oliver (Stephen Amell) is seen in domestic bliss with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), even on the verge of a proposal, but he’s abruptly called back to his hometown, which is running amuck with villains in his absence.
Not that Team Arrow hasn’t been stepping up in his stead, with the trailer also teasing plenty of action for Laurel (Katie Cassidy), Thea (Willa Holland) and Diggle (David Ramsey). But Oliver is clearly taken off guard when he’s forced to face down the season’s new Big Bad, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).
Damien isn’t the only new character coming to “Arrow” in Season 4, as the first trailer showed off appearances from Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, JR Bourne as the villain Double Down and Matt Ryan, reprising his role as John Constantine following the cancellation of NBC’s “Constantine.”
And after a three-season journey, Oliver is seen with bright green arrows, signifying his transition from Arrow to Green Arrow, the iconic DC comic book superhero he’s finally becoming.
“Arrow” returns on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
