You have to wake up pretty early in the morning to catch Archie Panjabi off-balance — so don’t even try it in the afternoon.
During Tuesday’s 3:30 p.m PT “Blindspot” panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, one enterprising media member asked the actress to address that now-infamous “Good Wife” Season 6 finale green screen scene, and why she and former co-star Julianna Margulies hadn’t performed together for such a long time.
Cue audible groans from the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom. For her part, Panjabi took the high road.
“Look, I loved playing the role of Kalinda, I had such a great time on it. It was something that was very special to me,” she began. “I’m so thrilled to be on another show.”
“In terms of anything that happened on ‘The Good Wife,’ I think it’s only respectful it stay on ‘The Good Wife,’” Panjabi continued. “It was time for me — for many reasons — to unzip the boots and step into another show.”
Panjabi and Margulies famously (reportedly) feuded on the CBS drama, so much so that their final scene as a duo wasn’t even shot together. To close out Season 6, a green screen and body doubles were used to superimpose both actresses together at a bar for their goodbye.
That was Panjabi’s last episode; “The Good Wife” lasted one more season.
