Bob Berney and Bill Pohlad’s newly-formed production production company Apparition has sealed a Canadian distribution deal with Alliance Films.
Apparition and Alliance will launch its partnership on November 13th with the release of "The Young Victoria," starring Emily Blunt and directed by Jean-Marc Vallee. The film serves as the Toronto film festival’s closing night title.
Apparition’s upcoming slate includes "The Tree of Life," written and directed by Terrence Malick, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, and Jane Campion’s "Bright Star."
The company has already signed an output deal with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group for all U.S. ancillary rights.
Apparition intends to release 7 or 8 films a year.
