Annabelle, the creepiest doll to grace the silver screen since Chuckie in 1998’s “Child’s Play,” finally has herself a trailer.
The teaser for “Annabelle,” a prequel and spinoff of “The Conjuring,” shows us the blood-filled backstory of the lifelike figurine who haunted Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in James Wan‘s scary summer hit.
It all starts when an unassuming husband brings home a neatly wrapped mystery package for his beautiful bride. Inside, of course, is Annabelle.

“There,” says the blonde as she hangs the doll on the wall. “She fits right in.”
Annabelle stares back at the camera with dead eyes.
Soon after, the young homeowners find themselves under siege. There’s a stabbing. Blood drips into Annabelle’s eye. And suddenly, the doll isn’t so lifeless.
Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton star in the film, which was directed by John R. Leonetti and written by Gary Dauberman.
