Anna Paquin will star in the ABC drama pilot “Broken” from writer Meaghan Oppenheimer and executive producer Reese Witherspoon.
The “True Blood” alum will play Gemma, a ruthless Dallas divorce attorney whose life begins to unravel when her emotionally damaged, love-addicted sister resurfaces, exposing a long-hidden family secret.
The character is described as one of the most sought-after divorce attorneys in Dallas — having made a fortune off of the heartbreak of wealthy Texans. But beneath her carefully constructed facade are layers of vulnerability, self-destruction and deeply buried trauma.
Penelope Ann Miller, Blair Underwood, T.R. Knight, Charity Wakefield, Thad Luckinbill and Zeb Sanders are also set to star in the divorce drama.
The previously untitled show hails from ABC Studios and will be executive produced by Oppenheimer and Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea of Pacific Standard.
