Anna Kendrick takes on John Krasinski on Thursday’s episode of Spike’s “Lip Sync Battle,” and a sneak peek reveals that the actress is not only stealing the show — but also trying to steal her rival’s wife.
Kendrick lip syncs One Direction‘s “Steal My Girl” while serenading a video montage of none other than Emily Blunt, her “Into the Woods” co-star who went head-to-head with her own “The Devil Wears Prada” nemesis Anne Hathaway last week.
Wearing a tee-shirt with photos of both herself and Blunt in a heart, the “Pitch Perfect 2” star pledged her devotion to the British actress in a performance that even had Krasinski collapsing into hysterical laughter.
Kendrick also had another secret weapon on the upcoming episode when Jennifer Lopez made a surprise appearance for a duet.
Hosted by LL Cool J, “Lip Sync Battle” is produced by Krasinski, Stephen Merchant, Casey Patterson, Jay Peterson and Rick Schwartz. Beth McCarthy-Miller of “Saturday Night Live” serves as director.
It originated as a skit on Jimmy Fallon‘s “Tonight Show,” and features celebrities going head-to-head, lip-syncing to some of the greatest hits with sometimes elaborate props.
“Lip Sync Battle” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Spike.
