Former “AGT” runner-up Angelica Hale just belted out her “prove I’m alright song,” scoring “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” judge Howie Mandel’s golden buzzer in the process. She’s now the first franchise contestant ever to receive two golden buzzers.
Covering Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” this time, young Angelica showed the NBC audience that this “small boat” still has “a lot of fight left” in her. Weirdly, Spice Girl Mel B. wasn’t totally impressed, but her fellow panelist more than made up for that lack of enthusiasm on Monday.
With one press of the big button, Hale is now headed straight to the live shows: Yes, the golden buzzer is like winning a million bucks on Mandel’s other show, CNBC’s “Deal or No Deal.”
Hale was adorable and grateful to receive the honor (again); judge Simon Cowell was gleeful to rub the moment in Mel B.’s face.
Watch the video above. We’re team Howie/Hale on this one.
Hale was not the first to shower in gold confetti on this spinoff: Watch Susan Boyle’s big season-starting moment here, which was back when Mel B. was a bit more generous with the praise.
We’re not crying… You’re crying! ????????
