Andy Fickman to Direct Romantic Comedy ‘The Exes’ for CBS Films

Leonard Goldberg is producing the adaptation of Jane Moore's book "The Ex Files"

Andy Fickman ("Parental Guidance") has signed on to direct the romantic comedy "The Exes" for CBS Films, the studio announced on Monday.

Based on Jane Moore's book "The Ex Files," story follows a groom's ex-girlfriend who reluctantly agrees to attend his destination wedding for closure and their friendship. Once there, she finds herself trapped at an island resort with all of the couples' exes. Old flames are rekindled, new romances are born and complete chaos ensues.

Kelly Bowe has written the screenplay and Leonard Goldberg will produce the movie.

CBS Films' VP of production Mark Ross and creative executive Alex Ginno will oversee the project for the studio.

“I absolutely love this project. It’s a fun and fresh unique perspective within the romantic comedy world. Every time I mention the story to someone they immediately respond with how it relates to their own life – which makes this such a universal experience… anyone who has loved before has lost before. I’m also excited to work with CBS Films and a chance to work with legendary producer Leonard Goldberg is icing on the cake!”

Fickman is represented by WME and Management 360.
