Academy Award-winning director Andrew Stanton, best known for directing “WALL·E” and “Finding Nemo,” is set to direct “In the Blink of an Eye,” a live-action sci-fi drama for Searchlight Pictures, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Colby Day (“Spaceman”) wrote the script, which was featured on the 2016 Blacklist.
The synopsis for “In the Blink of an Eye” is as follows: “Three storylines, spanning thousands of years, intersect and reflect on hope, connection and the circle of life.”
Jared Ian Goldman (“Ingrid Goes West,” “Russian Doll”) is producing. Day is the executive producer. SVP of Production Taylor Friedman and Creative Executive Apolline Berty are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development Katie Goodson-Thomas and DanTram Nguyen.
Stanton has been a major force at Pixar Animation Studios, and has written and directed some of the most acclaimed animated features of our time, including “WALL·E,” “Finding Nemo” and the “Toy Story” franchise. He recently directly episodes for the Primetime Emmy Award winning and nominated series “For All Mankind”, “Legion”, “Better Call Saul” and “Stranger Things”.
Day recently wrote the adapted screenplay for the upcoming “Spaceman,” directed by Johan Renck (“Chernobyl”), starring Adam Sandler and Carey Mulligan.
