Amy Schumer has made an unexpected stop on her current tour — at the hospital.
“Trainwreck” star Schumer, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer, shared on her Instagram account Thursday that she has to reschedule upcoming shows in Texas because she’s been hospitalized with a pregnancy-related condition.
Sharing a photo of herself in a hospital bed, Schumer wrote, “Texas I am so deeply sorry. I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule. I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester.”
Schumer continued, “I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bulls—!”
Per Web MD, hyperemesis gravidarum is a condition suffered by fewer than three percent of pregnant women.
“When you have hyperemesis gravidarum, you vomit a lot, sometimes almost constantly. This can lead to problems like dehydration and weight loss,” Web MD notes.
Schumer concluded, “Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell! And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.”
According to Schumer’s tour schedule, her next date will be on Nov. 17 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
Schumer has been well-acquainted with the hospital this year. In April, she said that she had spent multiple days in the hospital being treated for a “horrible kidney infection,” noting that the illness caused her to miss the opening of her film “I Feel Pretty.”
