Amy Adams Lives a Hitchcock Nightmare in ‘The Woman in the Window’ Trailer (Video)

Psychological suspense film directed by Joe Wright opens in theaters May 15, 2020

You might get some serious Alfred Hitchcock vibes from watching Amy Adams in the first trailer for “The Woman in the Window,” a suspense thriller that echoes Hitchcock’s classic “Rear Window,” with a psychological twist.

Adams plays an agoraphobic child psychologist who befriends a neighbor (Julianne Moore) across the street from her New York City brownstone. She then witnesses her new friend brutally attacked by her husband (Gary Oldman) and go missing. But when she reports her friend’s disappearance to the police, it’s revealed that the woman she thinks she knows and saw disappear is a different woman (Jennifer Jason Leigh) entirely. It ends up leading to a big conspiracy that makes her question her own sanity.

“She’s not Jane. I know what I saw,” Adams says to the cops. “Why are you protecting them?”

“The Woman in the Window” is based on a novel by A.J. Finn and has been adapted for the screen by Tracy Letts. Joe Wright directs the thriller that also stars Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell and Brian Tyree Henry.

Scott Rudin, Eli Bush and Anthony Katagas produced the film that’s being released by 20th Century Fox on May 15, 2020.
