“America’s Got Talent” is bringing back the current four judge panel for next season, NBC Entertainment chairman announced Tuesday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
Simon Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and host Nick Cannon will all return to the hit competition series. The show has remained a major summer ratings powerhouse during its eleventh season.
On Tuesdays, “America’s Got Talent” is averaging 11.4 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic. The show has also aired on Wednesdays three times thus far this season, averaging 10.7 million viewers and a 2.2 rating.
“With the addition of Simon, the chemistry between our judges has grown even stronger and it’s easy to see how much enthusiasm they bring to the show night after night,” said Paul Telegdy, president of the alternative and reality group for NBC Entertainment. “Nick adds a boundless energy as host that ties everything together. We’re thrilled to have such a strong team returning for Season 12.”
“America’s Got Talent” is co-produced and co-owned by Simon Cowell/Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia North America. Simon Cowell, Sam Donnelly, Jason Raff, Trish Kinane and Richard Wallace are the executive producers.
The show can be seen in 190 markets worldwide with more than 500 million global viewers since it began airing in 2006. “Britain’s Got Talent” is the U.K.’s highest rated entertainment show of the century and in 2009, discovered the global singing sensation, Susan Boyle, who has sold 19 million records to date.
