NBC has set the premiere dates for its summer series “America’s Got Talent” and “American Ninja Warrior,” and they are basically the exact same time the shows returned last year.
The broadcaster will debut the 14th season of “AGT” with a two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28. “American Ninja Warrior” Season 8 will have its own two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. the following night, Wednesday, May 29, before moving to its regular time slot at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 10.
Last summer, “AGT” returned on May 29, while “Ninja Warrior” premiere on on May 30. So yes, right on schedule.
As TheWrap previously reported, the judging panel for the upcoming season of “America’s Got Talent” — which has remained the No. 1 alternative show in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic for 13 seasons — consists of new judges Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough, as well as returning judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star Terry Crews, who hosted the recently-wrapped first season of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” will host.
As for “Ninja Warrior,” hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila will return, with Zuri Hall joining the show this season as sideline reporter.
Per NBC: “Hall will be on the ground giving viewers an in-depth preview of the course and sharing up-to-the-minute reactions from the crowd. She will also be the first to greet competitors after they have taken on the course with her post-race interviews.”
