NBC is heating up its cold months with some new talent, or rather some old — but good — talent.

Simon Cowell and the Peacock network are bringing back the most memorable “America’s Got Talent” contestants to compete in “The Champions” edition for NBC’s 2018-19 winter schedule, Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment announced Saturday.

According to the logline, “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” will bring together the “most talented, memorable, wackiest and all-around favorites” from past seasons of “AGT.” Additionally, some of the most popular acts from the other global “Got Talent” franchises, spanning 184 countries, will be joining the competition to win the love of America — and $1 million.

“‘America’s Got Talent’ dominates the summer by bringing together The World’s Best ‘Got Talent’ acts for all ages with unique talents to the forefront,” said Telegdy. “Bringing the best ‘Got Talent’ competitors together for this winter edition will have these favorites elevating their acts to awe and inspire audiences like never before.”

“I have always wanted to have a competition show for the very best of the best ‘Got Talent’ acts from around the world,” Cowell added. “The variety and the talents of the acts who enter ‘Got Talent’ globally are incredible and unbelievable. Since ‘America’s Got Talent’ was where it all started, I’m absolutely delighted to be launching this on NBC.”

Last summer, Season 12 “AGT” averaged a 3.5 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and 16.0 million total viewers overall. It was the show’s most-watched season ever and the summer’s No. 1 show, providing a lead-in for the No. 2 show of the season, NBC’s “World of Dance.”

“America’s Got Talent” was created by Cowell and is co-produced by FremantleMedia North America and Syco Entertainment. Cowell, Sam Donnelly, Jason Raff, Trish Kinane and Richard Wallace executive produce.

Season 13 of “America’s Got Talent” -will premiere May 29 at 8/7 c on NBC.
