NBC executives must sleep pretty easily on Tuesday nights in the summer. The broadcaster just dialed up another dominant primetime win, one which saw both “America’s Got Talent” and “World of Dance” grow week over week.
The reality shows went up against a bunch of reruns and one pathetic ABC original. That sad sack ABC show was “Somewhere Between,” by the way, which fell from an already soft start to a weak 0.4 rating/1 share and 1.8 million viewers.
NBC’s broadcast competition was so unimpressive last night that Telemundo finished runner-up in the key 18-49 demographic, running the premiere of “Si Senos Sí Hay Paraíso 2” and a “El Señor de los Cielos” episode.
NBC was first in ratings with a 2.3/10 in the advertiser-coveted demo and in total viewers with an average of 11 million, according to preliminary numbers. “AGT” at 8 p.m. scored a 2.6/11 and 12.9 million viewers. At 10, “World of Dance” earned a 1.7/7 and 7.2 million viewers.
Telemundo was second in ratings with a 0.7/3, both fifth in viewers with 1.7 million.
CBS and Univision tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.6. Univision had a 3 share, CBS got a 2. CBS was second in total viewers with 5.5 million, airing all repeats; Univision was fourth with 1.8 million.
ABC was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2, but third in viewers with 2.1 million. The Disney-owned net aired repeats for the first two hours of primetime.
Fox and The CW tied for sixth in ratings, both with a 0.3/1. Fox was sixth in total viewers with 1.4 million, CW was seventh with 1.2 million. Both just ran reruns.
