FX has set premiere dates for “American Horror Story: Hotel,” “The Bastard Executioner” and “Fargo,” the network announced Friday at the TCA press tour in Los Angeles.
“AHS: Hotel,” the latest season in Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series, will premiere on Oct. 7. Meanwhile, “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter’s new series “The Bastard Executioner,” which follows a 13th-century knight as he’s drawn back into battle, will premiere on Sept. 15.
Also, the sophomore campaign of the critically-acclaimed “Fargo,” a co-production between MGM Television and FX Productions, will premiere on Oct. 12. The new season will take viewers back to 1970s Minnesota as state trooper Lou Solverson investigates a murder at a diner.
In addition, FX has ordered a third season of “The Strain,” which follows a team of scientists investigating the outbreak of a virus that resembles an ancient form of vampirism. The show hails from showrunner, executive producer, and writer Carlton Cuse along with co-creators, executive producers and writers Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
Finally, FXX has ordered the new comedy series “Cassius and Clay,” an animated action-buddy comedy starring Kaitlin Olson as “Cassius” and Lake Bell as “Clay,” bandits looking to survive in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic American South. Adam Reed (“Archer”) will write and executive produce the show along with Megan Ganz (“Modern Family,” “Community”). Reed’s Floyd County Productions and Matt Thompson (“Archer”) will also serve as executive producers.
The series announcement was paired with news that FXX will become the new home for animated spy spoof “Archer’s” seventh season, which until now has aired on FX.
