‘American Horror Story: 1984’ Teaser Welcomes You to the Summer Camp From Hell (Video)

Good luck leaving Camp Redwood alive

FX dropped a new teaser for “American Horror Story: 1984” on Monday, introducing fans of the Ryan Murphy franchise to Camp Redwood a.k.a. the camp from hell, which seems like the perfect backdrop for an ’80s-slasher-themed season.

The brief clip doesn’t feature any of the cast members who have been announced for Season 9, but it does show plenty of teens enjoying themselves at the summer camp, completely unaware that a masked killer is on the loose.

“AHS: 1984” stars Emma Roberts, Gus Kenworthy, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, John Carroll Lynch, Zach Villa, DeRon Horton, Matthew Morrison and Angelica Ross. As TheWrap previously reported, it doesn’t star longtime franchise alum Sarah Paulson and it has yet to be revealed if/how she’ll show up this season at all.

In classic “AHS” fashion, we don’t know much about “1984,” except that the theme is ’80s horror flicks, which is very clear with the costumes and camp setting shown in the above promo and the first teaser.

“I will tell you nothing, except that I think it’s awesome,” executive producer Tim Minear told TheWrap in May. “I think it’s gonna be really scary but a lot of fun, like it always is. And that if you have a taste for ’80s horror, you’re in for a treat.”

“American Horror Story: 1984” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 10/9c on FX.
