If they don't eat your brain, they'll surely increase your viewer awareness.
That's AMC's plan, as the network hires hundreds of extras to don scary zombie makeup and walk the streets of over a dozen cities across the globe, all in an effort to promote the Sunday premiere of its new Frank Darabont-produced series, "The Walking Dead."
The so-called "zombie invasion" will kick off Tuesday in Taipei and Hong Kong, later unfurling in New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, London, Munich, Madrid, Rome, Athens, Johannesburg, Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires, culminating on Halloween night in Los Angeles.
The planned "outbreaks" will occur near landmarks, such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Lincoln Memorial and Big Ben.
Fox, which is distributing the sci-fi drama overseas, is co-sponsoring the publicity stunt.
