AMC Sets Premiere for ‘The Prisoner’

Six-hour miniseries will unspool in November. Can it match the success of ‘Broken Trail’?

AMC has sentenced "The Prisoner" to a Sunday, Nov. 15 premiere date.

The network Tuesday said its six-hour remake of the 1960s series will unfold over three nights from 8-10 p.m. on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It plans to lead into the mini with an all-day marathon of movies from "The Matrix " series; the original series will be streamed on the network’s website, AMCTV.com.

Jim Caviezel stars in AMC’s new version of "The Prisoner," which revolves around a man who finds himself trapped in a surreal place called "The Village" with no idea how he got there.

"The Prisoner" is a co-production with UK outlets ITV and Granada International. AMC’s last miniseries, "Broken Trail," was a critical and commercial smash that opened the door for the network’s "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad."
