Annapurna and Amazon are teaming up to release Mike White’s upcoming comedy, “Brad’s Status,” TheWrap has learned.
The film, which stars Ben Stiller as a family man who feels inadequate after learning of the incredible success of his school mates, will be co-released domestically by the two studios and will be the second title released under Annapurna’s new distribution wing.
In a teaser played at CinemaCon earlier this year, Stiller is seen lecturing his smart but intensely laid back son on dealing with the pressure of getting into college. He tells a story about his own struggles getting into Yale, and then his son reveals he’s actually close to landing admittance to Harvard.
There’s a bittersweet exchange and on Stiller’s face runs a gamut of emotion over the news: pride, sorrow, bitterness and more.
Written and directed by White, the film is produced by SKE, Plan B, and David Bernard. Sierra/Affinity is handling international sales.

The deal was first reported by Deadline.
