Jeep is traversing from the trails to the digital entertainment world — and taking some of the biggest names in sports and television along for the ride.

Fourteen-time MLB All-Star and founder of AROD Corp Alex Rodriguez and entertainment correspondent/SiriusXM host Maria Menounos are among the first celebrities to compete in a new web series titled “Jeep Wrangler Celebrity Customs.”

Hosted by former 13-year NBA star and ESPN analyst Jalen Rose, the six-episode web series sees contestants team up with professional customizers and Jeep Performance Parts to craft an all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler that reflects their styles and personalities.

Arod, Menounos and restaurant media platform The Infatuation, with co-founders Andrew Steinthal and Chris Stang, are the first to face-off to create one-of-a-kind vehicles. The winner gets to keep the Jeep Wrangler they’ve customized along with the Wrangler Golden Grille Award.

“It’s been thrilling to compete in the first ever ‘Jeep Wrangler Celebrity Customs,’” baseball legend Rodriguez said in a statement. “Ryan and his team at West Coast Customs are building me the perfect ride — a Wrangler that keeps up with both my business and my lifestyle. I’m certain those guys are going to help me knock it out of the park!”

Lifelong Boston Red Sox fan Menounos takes on her New York Yankees rival by pairing up with David Tonapetyan of DCD Customs to craft the Wrangler of her dreams.

“I never shy away from a little friendly competition,” she said. “I’m so excited to participate in this program with the Jeep brand and I look forward to presenting creative space and organizational solutions from my own personal point of view, while also catering to dog lovers everywhere.”

The first episode is available to watch here or in the video below, and fans can follow each contestant’s progress on a Jeep brand’s social channels: InstagramTwitter, Facebook as new episodes roll out over the next two weeks.

The final installment on Sept. 27 will be part of a special reveal event in Los Angeles featuring all four celebrity contestants as the challenge winner is announced. Voting will take place on Jeep.com from Sept. 27 through Oct. 5.

The Jeep Brand worked with Relevent to develop the Wrangler Celebrity Customs program. The New York-based agency handled talent, creative and production responsibilities on the content as well as the culminating event.
