Alec Baldwin will return to NBC for his first post-“30 Rock” role since the comedy ended last year.
The actor will appear in a March episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” a show representative told TheWrap.
“SVU” producers are keeping Baldwin’s role secret, but we do know that he will appear on “SVU” during star Mariska Hargitay‘s directorial debut.

Baldwin starred on “30 Rock” for seven seasons, a role that earned him two Emmy awards. Recently, his MSNBC talk show was canceled by the cable news network after the actor made controversial anti-gay statements. His other TV credits include NBC’s “Will & Grace,” “Friends” and CBS’s primetime soap opera “Knot’s Landing.”
His movie credits include “Beetlejuice,” “The Hunt for Red October,” “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “Rock of Ages,” among many others.
