Agent Todd Hoffman will leave ICM Partners to form his own management and production company, several individuals with knowledge of Hoffman’s plans told TheWrap.
Hoffman was a key member of the agency's media-rights group, making deals to turn articles from clients like the New York Times into feature films and TV shows.
He also represents author Orson Scott Card, whose book “Ender’s Game” has been adapted into a movie set for Nov. 1 release; director Michelle MacLaren (“Breaking Bad,” “Game of Thrones”); writer/director George Gallo (“Midnight Run,” “See Spot Run”), and scribe Dick Clement (“Across the Universe”).

ICM Partners informed its staff of Hoffman's imminent departure this morning. Hoffman became his career working for producer Craig Baumgarten, then became a producer for Davis Entertainment and Viacom Production. He joined literary agency Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann in 2000 and continued on at ICM after it bought the boutique shop in 2006.
Hoffman will continue to work out of the ICM Partners offices for short while before taking his leave. The agency expects to retain all his clients.
