Barry Jossen, former head of ABC Studios, has signed on with the newly formed A+E Studios as executive vice president.
Jossen will oversee all scripted programming operations of A+E Studios, the in-house production arm of A+E Networks, including creative affairs and production on all scripted programming produced and co-produced by the studio.

Under Jossen’s leadership, ABC Studios produced series including “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Scandal.” Jossen was also responsible for launching the boutique studio ABC Signature, which creates content for off-network and emerging platforms, and boosted ABC Studios’ cable presence.
Jossen will report to A+E Networks president of brand strategy, business development and A+E Studios Bob DeBitetto, working from the company’s Los Angeles offices.

A+E Studios’ current projects include the History miniseries “Houdini,” which stars Adrien Brody and just wrapped production; History’s upcoming “Texas Rising,” an eight hour “epic event,” and A&E’s upcoming remake of the French zombie thriller “The Returned.”
Prior to ABC Studios, Jossen was an executive consultant for Imagine Television, where he supervised the production of “24” and “Felicity” while developing additional projects for the studio.
