Two years after winning best new artist at the 2009 Grammy Awards, Adele is making her debut performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, MTV announced Tuesday.
Also on the lineup: Chris Brown (pictured, left), who didn't make it to the 2009 Grammys because he had just beaten up his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, and Lil Wayne — who won best rap album on that memorable night in 2009.
They're each nominated for VMAs this year: Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," received seven nominations. Lil Wayne is nominated for three VMAs. Brown also has several nominations.
The VMAs will air live from Nokia Theater at 9 p.m. — delayed on the West Coast — on Aug. 28.
