"Rolling in the Deep" songbird Adele has been forced to put the brakes on her U.S. tour due to a case of laryngitis, the singer announced on her official Web site on Friday. There had been nine dates left on the jaunt; the British warbler had already canceled five dates of the tour due to the illness.
According to the announcement, the singer had met with an ear, nose and throat specialist, who deemed it necessary that she put her voice on absolute rest for "the next few weeks."
“I’m really frustrated," the singer said in message to her fans on the site. "I was hoping with a weeks' rest I’d be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I’m so sorry."
The singer's team is currently determining whether the dates will be rescheduled for future dates. The remaining shows included stints in San Francisco, Hollywood, Dallas, Atlanta and Nashville.
