Adam Sandler will to star in an untitled romantic comedy for Warner Bros. that explores the trend of blended families in America, a spokesman for the studio told TheWrap.
Sandler will play a parent who finds himself stuck at a resort for families where a woman, with whom he had previously gone on a disastrous blind date, is also staying with her kids.
Although they are reluctant to recognize their mutual attraction, guess what happens?
Sandler's Happy Madison Productions will executive produce with Gulfstream Pictures' Josie Rosen and Mike Karz — who sold the pitch to the studio back in 2007.
The original script was written by Ivan Menchell and Claire Sera. No director or any other actors are yet attached.
Sandler, who recently filmed "Grown Ups 2," voiced Dracula in Sony's successful animated family film "Hotel Transylvania," but his last appearance on the screen bombed at the box office. "That's My Boy," a Happy Madison production in which he played Andy Samberg's recklessly immature father, only opened to $13.5 million last summer and wasn't able to recoup its $70 million budget.
