Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are dads in real life — and now in the movies. On Thursday, Netflix dropped its trailer for April release “The Week Of,” in which the two comics play the fathers of a soon-to-be married couple.
The two family patriarchs couldn’t be more different, and — spoiler alert — that leads to what the comedy’s logline writer is calling “the dysfunctional hilarity that ensues.”
Here is the movie’s full official description, per Netflix:
The comedy tells the story of two fathers who are polar opposites (Sandler and Rock) and the dysfunctional hilarity that ensues when their families come together to celebrate the wedding of their children. They are forced to spend the longest week of their lives together and the big day could not come soon enough.
“The Week Of” stars Sandler, Rock, Rachel Dratch and Steve Buscemi. It is directed by Robert Smigel, who co-wrote the movie with Sandler. The feature is produced by Happy Madison Productions with Sandler and Allen Covert producing and Barry Bernardi and Tim Herlihy serving as executive producers.
Watch the trailer above, which uses much of its run-time to demonstrate how much Sandler’s character annoys Rock’s.
“The Week Of” walks down the aisle April 27 on Netflix.
