After being accused of battery against a paparazzo, Adam Lambert made his case on Twitter, telling followers, "If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I'm guilty of."
The photographer involved in the alleged incident filed a report with the Miami Beach Police Department late Thursday night in which he said earlier in the day Lambert forcefully wrestled him to the ground and took his camera from his backpack, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Lambert, who is in the Miami area to perform a concert Friday night, immediately began tweeting his side of the story.
First on Thursday afternoon: "Eeew paparazzi killed my peaceful afternoon on the beach! #howisthisok?"
That was followed a few hours later by: "They're real good at provoking, but there ain't any pics or video of the b.s. they spew out… Haha well… I lost my temper for a sec but wow it felt great lol MIAMI!!!"
"Hahha the photos are hilarious !! Lol please everyone forgive me for that hat. – I was attempting a disguise- clearly failed. Hahah"
On Friday, Lambert followed with "Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I'm guilty of."
Lambert, if charged with misdemeanor battery, would face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
