Adam Driver IS Emo, Says Twitter — So How Come He Doesn’t Know What It Means?

Actor describes Kylo Ren: “He feels everything probably more intensely than the people around him”

Adam Driver Force Awakens

Adam Driver, the tall, brooding actor who plays a “Star Wars” villain with daddy issues, said he doesn’t know the definition of “emo” — and now Twitter is very confused.

“How can Adam Driver not know what emo is when he’s literally the embodiment of emo,” one Twitter user asks of the actor who plays Kylo Ren.

The whole issue started with Rolling Stone’s new “Star Wars” deep dive. In the interview, Driver asks the author what “emo” means during a discussion about Kylo Ren’s character.

“Adam Driver has a question for me. ‘What,’ he asks, ‘is emo?” Sounds weird, and I thought it was bullsh– until Driver started speaking about Kylo Ren’s feels,” RS’ Brian Hiatt wrote. “‘You have someone who’s being told that he’s special his whole life, and he can feel it. And he feels everything probably more intensely than the people around him, you know?”

If you think Driver’s description of Kylo’s “feels” sounds pretty much like the definition of “emo,” you are not alone.

“Adam Driver claiming not to know what emo means is the most emo thing I’ve ever heard,” another Twitter user said.
