ABC’s ‘Death of Eva Sofia Valdez’ Pilot Adds Two to Cast (Exclusive)

ABC’s drama pilot “Death of Eva Sofia Valdez” has added Zabryna Guevara and Marta Milans in series regular roles, TheWrap has learned.

Described as “Macbeth with a Cuban twist,” the ABC Studios pilot was written and executive produced by Charise Castro Smith and exec produced by “Agent Carter” showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters.

An immigrant who rose from rags to riches, Eva Sofia Valdez is a celebrated Miami entrepreneur and a champion for immigrant rights. But her success is fueled by an insatiable ambition that could destroy her family, a vendetta against the lover who betrayed her, and ghosts from the past who threaten to reveal the dark sacrifices Eva Sofia made to attain the American Dream.

Guevara will play Teresa, Eva Sofia’s loving and bubbly younger sister, a Cuban immigrant who also worked her way up from poverty to a position of power and prosperity. Milans will play Alegria, Eva Sofia’s daughter-in-law who has a “pure heart” and a sincere desire to do good in the world.

Raúl Castillo was previously cast as Eva Sofia’s oldest son, Sebastian.

Milans’ most recent TV credits include “Mysteries of Laura” and HBO’s “Wizard of Lies.” She is represented by by Jennifer Wiley Stockton of JWS Entertainment, Gersh and lawyer Neil Meyer of Meyer/Downs.

Guevara is currently in production on Baz Luhrman’s “The Getdown” for Netflix. She is repped by Jennifer Wiley Stockton of JWS Entertainment and Amanda Glazer of The Kohner Agency.
