Roseanne Barr is a legal eagle for a new role on ABC’s “Cristela.”
The veteran comedienne will play Veronica, an activist lawyer and wife to Trent (Sam McMurray), on the freshman comedy, an ABC representative told TheWrap.
She still loves Trent, but they just don’t get along. The former hippie does pro-bono cases, which becomes interesting to Cristela (Cristela Alonzo).
Barr is shooting her episode this week for a January 2015 airdate.
In addition to starring on “Roseanne” for nine seasons, Barr has starred on IFC’s “Portlandia,” NBC’s “The Office” and as the voice of Kraang Prime on Nickelodeon’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” She has also starred in the films “She-Devil,” “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues” and “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare.”
Gersh and 5 Boroughs Entertainment represent Barr.
