ABC’s Bizarre New Dating Show — ‘Conveyor Belt of Love’

Male contestants must impress women in quick pass on a conveyor belt. Was this hatched in a fever dream?

ABC is taking a stab at a new kind of dating show — one whose title sounds like something Fox’s Mike Darnell would have dreamed up while stricken with the swine flu.

The network has scheduled a special (and likely back-door pilot) for something called "Conveyor Belt of Love." Appropriately, it will air Jan. 4 at 10 after the season premiere of "The Bachelor" and is being produced by the same company that once made the underrated "Chains of Love."

There’s no way we could offer a better description of the show than ABC. So here’s the release for the special, news of which was first broken by The Hollywood Reporter:

Following the season premiere of “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love,” five women take a shot at finding love when 30 men are given the chance to impress them as they pass by on a moving conveyor belt, on “Conveyor Belt of Love,” MONDAY, JANUARY 4 (10:00-11:00 p.m.,
