Get ready for more margarita-fueled mayhem in Mexico courtesy of ABC, as the network announced Tuesday that it has renewed “Bachelor in Paradise” for a fourth season.
The reality-show spinoff follows “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” alumni as they explore new relationships while living together in a secluded and dreamy Mexican paradise, according to ABC’s show description.
Also hosted by Chris Harrison, “Bachelor in Paradise” is more raucous and less romantic than its counterparts, featuring plenty of shocking twists, surprises, unexpected guests — and even more unexpected hookups.
“Bachelor in Paradise” grew its average overall audience by 9 percent year to year (6.2 million vs. 5.7 million) and held even with adults 18-49 (2.0/8), marking its most-watched season yet, the network’s statement claims. The ABC unscripted series was also up from last year by double digits with men 18-34 (up 13 percent), men 18-49 (up 22 percent), men 25-54 (up 18 percent) and teens 12-17 (up 29 percent).
During its 2016 run, ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” ranked as Monday’s No. 1 TV series in adults 18-34, while also standing as the top-rated show on both Monday and Tuesday with women 18-34.
The renewal announcement was made during Tuesday’s “Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise” as three couples — Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, Grant Kemp and Lace Morris, and Josh Murray and Amanda Stanton — left Paradise engaged on the season finale.
“Bachelor in Paradise” is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, Martin Hilton, Nicole Woods and Elan Gale are executive producers.
