ABC has given a put pilot commitment to the comedy “Lakeshore VA” from writer Shelly Gossman and executive producer Jim Parsons.
Produced by the “Big Bang Theory” star’s company and Warner Bros. Television, “Lakeshore VA” follows a C+ team of VA hospital employees who are underfunded, understaffed, and stopped overworking themselves years ago, until a new hotshot female chief of surgery steps in to turn them into an A team.
The show draws from Gossman’s (“Saturday Night Live”) experience as the daughter of a Vietnam veteran and as an employee at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
In addition to writing the pilot, Gossman will serve as co-executive producer. Bill Wrubel (“Modern Family”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Parsons and Todd Spiewak. Eric Norsoph, Head of Development and Production for That’s Wonderful, will oversee the project for the company.
Gossman, Wrubel and Parsons are repped by CAA. Wrubel is also represented by Ken Richman of Hansen Jacobson. Parsons is also represented byMarsha McManus of Principal Entertainment LA, and Cheryl Snow of Gang, Tyre.
