Ben Higgins has been named the star of the upcoming season of ABC’s “The Bachelor.”
His identity was revealed Monday night on “After Paradise,” the aftershow that follows summer spinoff “The Bachelor in Paradise.”
Higgins, from Winona Lake, Indiana, was one of the suitors who came up short in pursuit of star Kaitlyn Bristowe’s love on the recent 11th season of “The Bachelorette.”
“I’m ready to start sharing my life with somebody,” Higgins said during his “After Paradise” introduction.
Comic Amy Schumer called in to the show to warn Higgins, “Don’t do it!” She then encouraged him to “find love and then send some my way.”
Schumer also asked Higgins, 26, if he wanted to have phone sex with her.
Higgins’ Twitter profile identifies him as “sweetly broken, wholly surrendered.”
Season 19 of “The Bachelor” drew a 3.0 Nielsen rating among adults 18-49 in live viewing plus seven days of playback.
