ABC Family has renewed its freshman sci-fi drama “Stitchers,” the network announced Tuesday.

“Stitchers” follows Kirsten (Emma Ishta) after she’s recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched,” allowing her to tap into the mind of the recently deceased. She’s assisted by Cameron (Kyle Harris), a brilliant neuroscientist.

In its first six outings since the June 2 premiere, the show has averaged about 930,000 viewers in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic.

“Fans are enjoying the camaraderie of the Stitchers team and a lead character that is unapologetically smart, focused and a great role model to young women,” Karey Burke, ABC Family’s executive vice pPresident, programming and development, said in a statement. “We look forward to seeing more of the Stitchers team tackling diverse cases as they unravel the mystery behind the program’s creation.”

The drama is executive-produced by Jeffrey Alan Schechter, Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken. The series also stars Ritesh Rajan, Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Allison Scagliotti.

“Stitchers” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC Family. The summer finale is set to air on Thursday, Aug. 4.
