ABC has picked up three new family comedy pilots, TheWrap has learned.
The network also picked up “Losing It” comes from writer and executive producer DJ Nash. The single-camera, half-hour comedy follows three adult siblings and their parents who — between their minds, their marriages, their freedom and their lives — are all losing it in different ways.
Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment serve as executive producers on the project from ABC Studios.
ABC also ordered an untitled comedy from ABC Studios and writers Dannah Phirman and Danielle Schneider, who co-created the “Real Housewives” parody series “Hotwives” for Hulu.
The multi-camera comedy centers on an intellectual but emotionally challenged single dad who moves to Queens with his two young daughters and forms an unlikely family with the other residents in their apartment building.
The comedy is written and executive produced by Phirman and Schneider alongside “Trophy Wife” duo Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern
Also in the pipeline is the comedy pilot “Household Name,” starring Carol Burnett, from executive producer Amy Poehler. In addition, ABC has a 1990s-set spinoff of “The Goldbergs,” a buddy cop comedy produced by Elizabeth Banks, “Libby & Malcolm” from Vijay Patel and “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris, and “Raised by Wolves” from “One Mississippi” and “United States of Tara” creator Diablo Cody.
