A Spontaneous Dance Party Breaks Out in New ‘Felix & Meira’ Clip (Exclusive Video)

Hadas Yaron stars as Hasidic Jewish wife and mother and Martin Dubreuil as a secular loner who find romance in Maxime Giroux-directed film

A casual stroll on the sidewalk turns into a spontaneous dance party in a new clip released from indie drama “Félix & Meira.”

After unexpectedly meeting in a local bakery in Montreal’s Mile End district, Meira (Hadas Yaron), a Hasidic Jewish wife and mother, and Félix (Martin Dubreuil), a secular loner mourning the recent death of his estranged father, find romance and she slowly discovers there’s a whole wide world outside of her tight-knit Orthodox community.

In the exclusive clip (above), the couple are out at night together for the first time. As he pulls her into a restaurant, Meira is pulled into throngs of dancing patrons and gets caught up in the moment with Felix — her first time dancing with a man. The closeness lingers even after they take their date back outside.

The film is the third feature of director Maxime Giroux, who co-wrote the movie with Alexandre Laferrière.

“Félix & Meira” made its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Oscilloscope will release it Apr 17 in New York and Apr 24 in Los Angeles before expanding.
