Following Donald Trump’s installation of loyalists on the Kennedy Center board to elect him chairman, the president is now floating himself as the next host of the Kennedy Center Honors. Stephen Colbert is more than happy to see that happen — provided it comes with a trade.
Really, during his monologue on Monday night, the CBS host wasn’t at all surprised to hear Trump suggest his own name as host.
“You could have given me a thousand guesses, and that would have been all of them,” Colbert said with a laugh. “I just want to point out I hosted the Kennedy Center Honors.
