The boys of “9-1-1: Lone Star” get deep while pumping iron on Monday’s episode of Fox’s new Rob Lowe-led “9-1-1” spinoff, with Paul (Brian Michael Smith) revealing to his fellow firefighters that he’s scared he’ll be rejected by a potential love interest when she finds out he’s trans.
In the above clip from tonight’s episode, which is exclusive to TheWrap, Owen’s son T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Mateo (Julian Works) listen as their friend shares his fears.
“Yeah, I usually meet women on dating apps, you know everything is on the profile, no surprises,” Paul says.
When Mateo jumps in to say he should just lay it all out there for his new girl, Paul tells him, “Now that’s the risky part. When it comes to sharing something that personal, you kinda gotta go by the rule of threes.”
“I gotta assume that for every one person that I’ve told, I’ve actually told three, ’cause people can’t help but to tell somebody else,” he explained.
“Straight, gay, bi, trans — dating sucks, alright, there’s no way around it. So take her out, analyze the risk, and if it feels safe, take the leap,” T.K. says to Paul, trying his best to reassure him.
Here’s the description for tonight’s episode, titled “Studs”:
Owen and the crew race to a brawl at a male strip club, a fire at a bull semen factory and a protest where male toxicity is taken to a new level. Meanwhile, Paul tentatively goes out on a first date, Grace tries to reconnect with Judd and Owen faces the consequences of his chemo.
“9-1-1: Lone Star” airs Mondays at 8/7c on Fox.
