‘9-1-1’: Athena’s Dad Is Questioned by the Police About Tanya Kingston’s Death (Exclusive Video)

The third episode of Season 6 shines light on Athena’s origin story first explored in Season 2

“9-1-1” Season 6, Episode 3 takes viewers back to Athena’s (Angela Bassett) origin story first explored in Season 2 that uncovered the frightening, unsolved disappearance of a young girl in her hometown, which spurred her to want to become a police officer. In a clip shared exclusively with TheWrap, police question the connection Athena’s father, Samuel, may have with Tanya Kingston’s kidnapping and eventual murder.

In last week’s episode, “Crash & Learn,” Athena and Bobby (Peter Krause) were headed to her parents’ house after learning that Samuel (Henry G. Sanders) had crashed his car into it while suffering a stroke. In the last few moments of that episode, police revealed that the home’s foundation was built over a child’s corpse; the discovery puts an end to the yearslong mystery that rocked the Florida town, with Athena making the connection that Kingston was buried there.

“9-1-1” Season 6 also stars Oliver Stark as Evan “Buck” Buckley, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz, Corinne Massiah as May Grant and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz. The series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear.

Episode 3, titled “The Devil You Know,” premieres at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Monday.
