Ryan Guzman has joined the cast of Fox’s “9-1-1” as a series regular for Season 2, the network announced on Wednesday.
Guzman will play a firefighter who joins the firehouse led by Peter Krause’s character on the series from executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear. He will join fellow newcomer Jennifer Love Hewitt when the new season begins in the fall.
“9-1-1” continues to fill out its cast following the exit of star Connie Britton, who recently left the series at the conclusion of her one-year deal.
The drama explores the high-pressure experiences of police officers, firefighters and emergency operators who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. In addition to Krause, Angela Bassett, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi and Rockmond Dunbar also star.
Guzman is best-known for his roles in the Jennifer Lopez thriller “The Boy Next Door” and Richard Linklater’s “Everybody Wants Some!!” His previous television credits include “Notorious,” “Heroes Reborn” and “Pretty Little Liars.”
He is repped by CAA, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Meyer & Downs LLP.
