Zoe Kravitz is set to star on and executive produce the “High Fidelity” remake series for Disney’s straight-to-consumer streaming service.
The “Big Little Lies” actress will tackle John Cusack’s role of a record store owner and list-maker from the 2000 Touchstone movie, which was based on a Nick Hornsby novel. In the turn-of-the-century feature film adaptation, Rob (Cusack) recounted his Top 5 breakups, one of which was in progress at the time.
The “High Fidelity” female-P.O.V. remake has a 10-episode order at the streaming service. The small-screen versions hails from writers Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka and is an ABC Signature Studios production.
With Zoe Kravitz, West and Kucserka will executive produce alongside Midnight Radio’s Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.
The Disney direct-to-consumer streaming service is scheduled to launch in late 2019 and will feature an array of branded original and library content from The Walt Disney Studios, Disney-ABC Television Group, Pixar Animation, Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm.
Kravitz is repped by Paradigm, Untitled Entertainment and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel. Kravitz is the daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz, so the music scenes should be no issue.
