Rapper Yung Joc Clowned by Twitter Over His New Haircut

Emcee’s ‘do draws comparisons to the Popeye’s lady, Apu from “The Simpsons”

Yung Joc may want to wear a hat for a while.

Twitter has absolutely gone to town this morning on the rapper’s new haircut, comparing his fresh side-part to the Popeye’s spokesperson, Apu from “The Simpsons” and even SpongeBob SquarePants on his way to the prom. There were plenty more mocking memes where those came from — our favorites are posted below.

Beyond the jokes, Joc has another tie to television: In 2014, he joined the VH1 reality dating series “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” as a supporting cast member.

Joc — real name Jasiel Amon Robinson — actually has some sway in the hairstyling industry itself. Per Wikipedia, his father, Stanley Tucker, owned a hair-care products company, which helped Joc get an early gig writing a jingle for Revlon.

Beyond commercials, the rapper’s “It’s Goin’ Down” won a BET Award as 2006’s Hip-Hop Track of the Year. There, he’s been nominated five other times, though mostly that year and thanks to that song. The track also landed him a Grammy nomination in 2007, as well as three Billboard Award nods, three MTV Video Music Awards opportunities and a pair of Soul Train Music Awards nominations. He didn’t win any of those.

Below are some of the best Twitter shots fired at the 33-year-old Atlanta emcee this morning. Remember Joc: You can always shave your head.
